Here Comes The Sun

Here Comes The Sun!

My youngest daughter received the movie Annie for Christmas.  This is the new release with Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhane Wallis and Cameron Diaz.  A wonderful “remake” of the original.

Annie is a story of rescue and redemption,  the importance of goals and dreams, perseverance and potential.

A young child abandoned by her parents and brought up in foster care with a care provider more focused on her own needs that those of the children she is supposed to be caring for.

One of the children in particular has an unquenchable positive attitude and persistent belief and dream that her parents will be coming back to rescue her and redeem her to themselves.

The beauty of this persistence is that, this attitude of positivity is what gives her the opportunity to be adopted by someone who can give her the love and care she needs and provide for her the life she always dreamed of.

Despite set backs and disappointing news Annie keeps a positive outlook and knows that her situation will turn out fine.

The key song in the movie is “Tomorrow”  In the clip above, you can almost hear Annie say “Here comes the Sun!”

The sun  will come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!

Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!

When I’m stuck in a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh

The sun will come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
‘Til tomorrow
Come what may

Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!

You’re always
A day
A way!

Tomorrow!
Tomorrow!
I love ya
Tomorrow!

You’re always
A day
A way!

Whatever situation we find ourselves in–sorrow, fear of the unknown, disappointment–we can know that tomorrow things can change.  This moment is not eternity. Time, and our lives, move on.  Opportunities come and go; the stock market crashes, but comes back eventually; wars are started and wars are ended.  The situation you find yourself in today need not be where you will be tomorrow, next week, next month or next year.
